特定項目設有女子組，女性參賽者可選擇參加女子組或公開組，惟每項目只可加入其中一組別。(例: 試斬參加公開組，土壇、擊劍參加女子組)

There is a women’s group for certain item. Female contestants can choose to join in the women’s group or the open group, but each item can only join one of the groups. (Example: Tameshigiri join the open group, Dotan and Gekken join the women’s group)

擊劍

公開組 / 女子組

擊劍比賽採取淘汰制。接受踢、投摔等攻擊方式,但不是直接得分,要用紅色刀刃面擊中對手才算得分。不論擊中身體任何部位,只要判定為成功得分即能獲勝。3次打成平手，雙方同時取消資格。

小太刀

公開組

初賽至準決賽 – 6段斬
季軍戰 & 決賽 – 拔打+稻妻斬

土壇

公開組 / 女子組

採取計分制,把二重捲的蓆橫向疊起，用斬開的支數決定頭5位的名次。只能試斬一次。試斬角度為直角，只能量度入刀位一次。頭5位中，若有斬開相同支數者將再次試斬決定名次。

組太刀

公開組

採取計分制(100分為滿分)，以得分決定頭3位的名次。每組二人共同演繹戶山流組太刀 1、2、3本目，可自由選擇使用真劍或模擬刀。

團體試斬

公開組

每組三人，分別擔任先鋒、中堅、大將。在同一支蓆上，每人試斬2刀。先鋒(左右袈裟)、中堅(袈裟+逆袈裟)、大將(袈裟+平水)。

準決賽 & 季軍 & 戰決賽 – 2太卷6段斬

團體擊劍

不接受公開報名

個人擊劍比賽中，公開組 4 強及女子組的冠軍及亞軍將自動入選成為此項目的選手。公開組 4 強以抽籤方法分為 2 組及女子組冠軍和亞軍各加入其中一組, 3人為一組 (先鋒．中堅．大將)。出場順序為先鋒、中堅、大將, 每場贏利者可留下繼續比試, 直至大將戰敗。

Gekken

Open / Women

Soft padded swords will be used. Kicks, strikes, and throws are permitted but only strikes with the blade side (red) of the shinai/ sword will be counted as a point. Outcomes of matches will be self-reported based on shido. (Observers will also be in place as arbitrators) Strikes to any part of the body are permitted. Three aiuchi(opponents simultaneously hitting each other) will lead to a loss for both competitors.

Kotachi

Dotan

Open / Women

Competitors cut straight down through double wrapped wara stacked on top of each other. The top five places will be determined by the competitors who cut the most wara / mats. Tie breaking cuts will be performed if more than one of the top five competitors have the same number of cut wara.

Kumitachi

Open

Each team of two will perform Toyama-ryu’s kumitachi katas 1 through 3. A score out of 100 points will be given based on each team’s performance. In general, participantsare expected to use shinken in the kumitachi event but mogito may also be used.

Team Cutting

Open

Teams of three will compete against each other in this event. Each member of a three-person team (Senpo, Chuken, Taisho) will execute two cuts of a 6 dan giri on a single wara. First, the senpo will perform left and right kesa. Next, the chuken will perform kesa and gyaku-kesa. Finally, the taisho will peform the kesa and suihei.

Team Gekken

Registration not accepted

The top 4 of Gekken open group and the top 2 of Women’s Gekken group are automatically selected as competitors for Team Gekken. The top 4 of Gekken open group will be divided into 2 groups by lottery, and top 2 of Women’s Gekken group will join one of the groups. 3 people will form a group (Senpo, Chuken, Taisho). The order of appearance is Senpo, Chuken, Taisho. The winner of each game can stay and continue the competition until the Taisho is defeated.

撃剣の部

一般部門・女子部門

トーナメント方式で競技する。蹴り、投げなども認めるが、有効打突は、刀の刃の部分によるものとする。打突は身体のどの部位でも可とする。３回の相打ちで両者失格とする。

小太刀の部

一般部門のみ

１回選から準決勝－６段斬り
決勝・３位決定戦－抜打ち＋稲妻斬り

土壇の部

一般部門・女子部門

採点方式で、２枚巻きの藁を横に積み重ね、斬った本数により上位５位までの順位を競う。試斬は１回のみとする。斬る角度は直角方向とし、刃合わせは１回限りとする。上位５位までの剣士のうち、試斬本数が同数の剣士は再試斬により順位を決める。

組太刀の部

一般部門のみ

演武評価点（100点満点）により、上位３位までの順位を競う。戸山流組太刀６本のうち、１本目から３本目の形を演武する。真剣または模擬刀の使用も可とする

団体戦の部（試斬）

一般部門のみ

巻き藁１本を使用し、１チーム３人による「６段斬り（先鋒が左右の袈裟斬り、中堅が袈裟・逆袈裟斬り、大将が袈裟・水平斬り）」をトーナメント方式で行うことにより優劣をを競う。

準決勝・決勝・３位決定戦－２枚巻きの６段斬り

団体戦の部（撃剣）

一般公開応募いたしかねます。

撃剣の部から一般部門の上位４位及び女子部門の上位２位に自動的に出場権を与える。１チーム３人（先鋒・中堅・大将）に、一般部門の上位４位がくじ引き制で２組に分け、女子部門の上位２位がどちらのチームに加える。出場順番が先鋒、中堅、大将となり、この順番で勝ち抜き戦を行います。最後まで勝ち抜いたほうが勝ちとなる。
